About the City Administrator:

Hired on July 15, 2019, Tim McLean holds the position of City Administrator for the City of Gibraltar. Tim’s background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Grand Valley State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Bowling Green State University.

Tim has nine years of experience in municipal government. After beginning his career as an intern for the City of Troy, Tim has served as Assistant to the City Manager, City Manager, and Community Development Director for various communities. 

Responsibilities of the City Administrator:
The City Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the City in coordination with the Mayor, Council, City Commissions and Department Heads. Additional responsibilities of the City Administrator include, overseeing the Department of Public Works, the Downtown Development Authority, serving as the City’s Human Resource Director, and to serve as the City’s primary contact with other Local, State and Federal government entities.
