Holiday Closings The City of Gibraltar wishes everyone to enjoy the Holiday 's safely and responsibly. City Hall and D.P.W. will be closed on the following days due to the Holiday's: The Police Department remains open 24 hours a day for any emergency in the City.

Saturday, September 11, 2010... Punt, Pass & Kick: The Punt, Pass, & Kick Competition will be held at the Gibraltar Community Center Park on Saturday, September 11, 2010, beginning at 10:30 a.m., rain or shine. The competition is for boys and girls ages 6 to 15. For more information, please call (734) 671-1466 Saturday, October 9, 2010... The Gibraltar Fire Department will be holding their Annual Open House on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010... Flu & Pneumonia Clinic… On Thursday, October 14th a Flu & Pneumonia Clinic will be held at the Community Center from 10 am to 12 noon, by the Visiting Nurses. The charges are $25.00 for flu shot, $30.00 for nasal spry, and $50.00 for the pneumonia shot. Medicare Part B, BCN, HAP, Priory Health, and Health plus of Michigan are accepted. Father and Daughter Dance; On Saturday, October 30th a Father & Daughter Dance will be held at the Community center starting at 6:30 PM. Sunday, October 31, 2010... Kids Halloween Party: Halloween is on Sunday, October 31, 2010 and the recommended “Trick or Treat” hours are between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Then at 7:00 p.m. at the Gibraltar Community Center, the Gibraltar Rotary Club is sponsoring a Halloween Party for everyone with entertainment and a costume judging contest. Community Construction Projects in 2010 North Gibraltar Bike Path The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is paying for the construction of the bike path on North Gibraltar Road and West Jefferson. This path will connect with the existing pathway from Lake Erie Metropark and the Gibraltar Multi Use Path within the DDA District to the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge – Humbug Marsh. Concrete Street Sectioning The City will continue the Concrete Street Sectioning Program during the summer of 2010. Although funding is limited, small sections of concrete are scheduled to be replaced on some of the concrete residential roads, as well as some preventative maintenance on some of the asphalt residential roads. |
